Skin Tag Removal in Ottawa
Everything you wanted to know, but were afraid to ask.
What are Skin Tags?
Very Common
Skin tags are very common, small, soft, harmless skin irregularities or growths that almost everyone will experience at some point in their life.
Safe Removal
Our technicians are trained to safely and effectively remove skin tags in-office using a variety of methods.
Not Dangerous
They’re not dangerous, but they can be very annoying, especially given that the most common places people get skin tags are the eyelids, neck, armpits, groins, and chest.
At-home risks
At-home removal is not recommended as we have seen infection, scarring, and discolouration.

Types of Skin Irregularities:
Skin Tags
Minor skin irregularities can be removed easily in clinic in a matter of minutes.
Although benign, these lesions can be personally bothersome or esthetically unpleasing, so why live with it?
Types of Skin Irregularities:
Cherry Angiomas
Cherry angiomas get their name from the broken blood vessels inside the growth.
Like most skin irregularities, they are harmless but can be unsightly and annoying.
They often appear in people 30 years and older.
They are not a cause for concern unless they bleed, or change size or shape or colour.
You may wish to have your cherry angioma removed for cosmetic reasons or if it is an area that is easily irritated.
As with skin tags, our technicians have a variety of options to treat and remove your cherry angioma effectively and pain-free.
Types of Skin Irregularities:
Milia
Milia are small white bumps that usually appear on the nose or cheek.
They are harmless and will often go away on their own, but sometimes milia can become irritated or infected and require medical intervention. This is called milia en plaque or eruptive milia.
Symptoms of this type of milia include clusters of milia that form on the face, upper back or torso.
If you are experiencing eruptive milia or multiple milia that won’t resolve on their own, our technicians have a variety of services to treat and remove the cysts including chemical peels, facials, microdermabrasion, and topical solutions.
Types of Skin Irregularities:
Cholesterol Deposits
Cholesterol bumps, also called, xanthomas, are fatty deposits under the skin.
They are usually flat and smooth with clearly defined edges and can be anywhere from the size of a pen tip to up to three inches across.
Cholesterol deposits are often yellow or slightly flesh coloured.
They are not painful or harmful but could sometimes be a sign of high cholesterol or elevated blood lipid levels.
Fatty deposits can be unsightly and, depending on the area, uncomfortable.
If you wish to have them removed, our technicians are trained to use laser therapy to remove deposits.
How to Remove Skin Tags
We use a technique called thermocoagulation to remove minor skin irregularities in clinic within a matter of minutes.
Thermocoagulation is an innovative technology…
that uses perfectly targeted heat energy to destroy common benign lesions and vascular issues.
Immediately upon contact…
we are able to see visible diminishing of the lesion, giving us and you an instant confidence boost that the treatment is working.
This non-invasive treatment…
provides precision with instantaneous results, without damaging the surrounding tissue.
Once healed…
there will be minimal to no appearance of where the lesion once was.
